A
16-year-old Mariochukwu John, an indigene of Ika North East Local
Government of Area has been declared wanted on Sunday, 20th January,
2013 by the Nigeria Police Force for allegedly engaging in the act of
homosexuality with his partner, Mr. Steve Ossas; a criminal offense
punishable with 14 years' imprisonment and also abhorred in Ekpoma, Edo
state where he lives.
In
a statement released by the Divisional Police Public Relation Officer
of the Benin Divisional Headquarters, Deputy Superintendent Moses
Eguavoen on 20th January, 2013, stated that Mariochukwu John is wanted
by the police for allegedly engaging in homosexuality which contravenes
the Nigerian law.
In
his words “We are out for Mariochukwu John, and we are not going to
relent until he is apprehended to face the full wrath of the law, the
general public should take note.” He enjoined the general public to come
forward with any useful information that could lead to the arrest of
the Mr. John, starting that a handsome reward awaits any person who
provides useful information that many lead to their arrest.

It
was revealed that the lovers were caught in the act which contravenes
the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The lovers where caught at
their hostel unknown to them that the door was open, when one Mr.
Igumbor enter the house and saw them lying down naked and then saw Mr.
John penetrating Ossas through the back and raised an alarm.
They
were apprehended and beaten up by the youth in the areas which lead to
the death of Mr. Steve Ossas but Mr. Mariochukwu John managed to escape
amidst the crowd of angry mob.
Investigation
reveals that the duo have been in the act before nemesis caught up with
them on that faithful day, it was gathered that the intimacy between
both culprits towards each other which was said to be uncommon in a same
relationship, aroused the suspicion of the neighbors to ascertain the
cause of the unusual bond between them which later proved to be true as
they were caught.
Speaking
with Ika Weekly reporter, a neighbor of Mr. Mariochukwu, who pleaded
anonymity, disclosed that he and the duo, has been living in the
compound as tenants about two years, but started seeing acting funny
about six months ago. In his words “At first, when he comes in,
everybody thought they were just friends until we started noticing some
unusual behavior between the two. Most times if we were outside
discussing, once Steve comes, the both of them will go inside within a
jiffy and next they will start playing, shouting, discussing and
laughing aloud like boyfriend and girlfriend engaging in foreplay before
sexual intercourse, after which they will become silent till an
indefinite time”
Continuing,
he said that they exhibited some feminine traits and also exhibited
some characters that is hitherto very suspicious of those involved in
homosexual act, which prompted the neighbours to carry surveillance on
them to ascertain the type of relationship between them until that
faithful day. “We peeped through the door and found out they were making
out; we saw John penetrating Ossas through the rear. We alerted the
neigbourhood in order to get them apprehended, but unfortunately Mr.
John managed to escape”
Meanwhile,
the police have declared Mr. Mariochukwu John wanted and promised a
handsome reward for anyone who comes up with useful information that
would lead to his arrest.
Other
members of the community are also on the lookout for him, to be stoned
to death according to the traditions of the land as a man hurt have been
placed.
