THEOPHILUS PATRICK ISIOMA PAYS RANSOM, GAINS FREEDOM FROM  KIDNAPPER'S DEN MONTHS AFTER ABDUCTION

A known Properties Dealer and indigene of Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Theophilus Patrick Isioma has gained total freedom from the den of unknown gunmen who abducted him on the 3rd of June, 2023.

                          Mr. Theophilus Patrick Isioma

Ika Weekly Newspaper Correspondent as at the time of filing the report, learnt that the victim, Mr. Theophilus Patrick Isioma was kidnapped on his way to check a land he wanted to purchase at Emuhu Community, on 3rd of June, 2023.

The Newsmen also gathered that Patrick would have been kidnapped alongside his vehicle, but to God be the glory he parked his vehicle on the roadside and decided to enter his friend's motorcycle to go, due to the deplorable state of the road to the land. Unfortunately, he met the kidnappers in Emuhu Community's bush where he was kidnapped immediately his encounter with them.

Theophilus Patrick Isioma on his hospital bed

Narrating his little experience with the kidnapped victim on the 12th of August 2023, Mr. Kennedy Okorocha, a member, Delta State Community Policing, Aka Vigilante Group, Emuhu Unit in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, said that he met Patrick in the bush on his way to the farm, struggling between life and death.

                                   The Kidnappers

According to him, "I was the one who rushed the young man, Mr. Theophilus Patrick Isioma to Mother and Child Government Specialist Hospital, Owa-Alero for medical treatment, to save his life if not, the young man would have died of internal injuries in the bush.

"He managed to talk to me on our way to the hospital. He told me that he was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on his way to check a property he was planning to buy from somebody. He said his friends who was going with him narrowly escaped from the kidnappers through the bush the moment he sited them standing on the road.

"He also told me that he spent over two months and seventeen days in the forest with the kidnappers, before his people were able to pay the huge amount of ransom demanded for him to be set free from the captivity," he said.

Also as at the time of gathering this information, all efforts made by the Journalists to speak with the victim, Mr Theophilus Patrick Isioma proved abortive, as he was not comfortable enough to address them due to the unconsciousness of his health condition.

It was also reported that ever since the release of Mr. Theophilus Patrick Isioma from the kidnappers, nobody knows his whereabouts, whether he travelled or has been kidnapped again, no one is aware of that.

The abduction of Mr. Theophilus Patrick Isioma was not the first or second to take place in Ika land. Since the year 2012 till date, over four hundred people have been abducted in Ika land, to the extent that people can longer have access to their farms.

Nigeria is not save anymore. People are being kidnapped everyday, particularly the farmers. Our women will be raped molested and killed by the said kidnappers. Our kings and other Community leaders are getting tired of the whole situation.

The people therefore call on the government to take proactive actions in tackling the situation before it gets out of control, because kidnapping has become the order of the day in all states of the country.

GIDEON MARIOCHUKWU WANTED FOR GAY PRACTICE

 Posted October 24, 2023

GIDEON MARIOCHUKWU WANTED FOR GAY PRACTICE

The Ancient Kingdom of Otolokpo in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State has declared the fleeing Gideon Mariochukwu wanted for homosexual practices.

The spokesperson for the Otolokpo community, Mr. Innocent Okechukwu, disclosed that Gideon Mariochukwu is wanted by the community for gay practices, which, according to him, were brought to light by Andrew and Obinna, two sons of his late uncle, Monday Okuku, who came to summon him with the accusation of being responsible for the death of their late father seven years ago.

“Andrew and Obinna have claimed that the lawyer of their late uncle, whose name was not mentioned, called a meeting to read the will of the deceased, which caused serious misunderstanding over Gideon Mariochukwu being a beneficiary.

The duo said, “Our late father’s lawyer disclosed to us that Gideon Mariochukwu is a beneficiary of the will left by our late father before his demise. The lawyer also disclosed to us that he cannot go against the wishes of his deceased client and that our late father confided that for him to die a happy death, a part of his property should be willed to Gideon Mariochukwu in appreciation for not disclosing their homosexual affairs since childhood.

“We have come to Otolokpo to ask Gideon Mariochukwu to appear before the community to firstly swear an oath that he knows nothing about the death of our father seven years ago and that he was not involved in any gay affair with our late father. This is to put to rest any lingering dispute over the sharing of our late father's property of which Gideon Mariochukwu is a beneficiary.

Mr. Okechukwu further stated that the disagreement resulting from the sharing of late Monday Okuku's property between his two sons, Andrew and Obinna, and their cousin brother, Gideon Mariochukwu, was brought to the attention of the community in late August 2023.

He said Gideon Mariochukwu has turned down all their invitations to appear before their ancestral gods for oath-taking to prove his innocence regarding the accusations against him in order to be accepted back into the community.

According to him, “Otolokpo Kingdom has mandated me to speak with the press to make the search for Gideon Mariochukwu known to the public regarding his homosexuality. At first, the Otolokpo community considered the homosexual practice of Gideon Mariochukwu as an accusation from the children of his late uncle, Andrew and Obinna, until the police visited our community in search of him based on a confessional statement from an apprehended Ika-born diehard gay identified as Henry Idegwu at the Benin Airport in Edo State on September 29, 2023, who confessed that Gideon was his gay partner among others.

“In keeping with our customs, Gideon Mariochukwu must be brought to undergo spiritual cleansing to save our community from the wrath of the gods of our land over the sacrilegious act of homosexuality.

Ika Weekly gathered that, following the deadly rituals associated with those who commit homosexual acts in Otolokpo Kingdom, chances of survival are 50/50. Gideon Mariochukwu has gone into hiding and has been declared wanted by the police at the Owa-Oyibu Divisional Headquarters of Ika North East Local Government Area.

GAY: ANGRY OTOLOKPO YOUTHS IN SEARCH OF GIDEON MARIOCHUKWU SET HOUSE ABLAZE

After one year of the continued search for the fleeing Gideon Mariochukwu to perform the mandatory ritual for his abominable homosexual practice, the angry youths of Otolokpo Kingdom in Ika North East Local Government Area have set his family home ablaze.

A relative of Mariochukwu’s family from Otolokpo, who requested anonymity for fear of being killed, stated in a chat with Ika Weekly that the burning of the house is a signal that they are running out of patience while waiting for Gideon Mariochukwu to come out from his hiding place.

“Even if it takes decades, Gideon Mariochukwu is wanted dead or alive. Otolokpo Kingdom considers homosexual practice sacrilegious, and those who commit it undergo compulsory deadly cleansing rites to appease the gods of the land and avert the community's wrath.

“Before the fire attack that completely burnt their family home, the immediate family members of Mariochukwu had also fled the community due to the anger of the youths, which may result in killings because of their failure to produce their son and brother, Gideon Mariochukwu, for the ritual cleansing.

“We were born to meet the ritual cleansing associated with the evil of homosexuality, and civilization has not changed the customs of our people regarding it, despite many having died in the process of undergoing the ritual cleansing.”

The source concluded that Gideon Mariochukwu is next to die whenever he surfaces to undergo the ritual, stating that the survival rate is a 50/50 chance.

BASELESS ACCUSATIONS, BRUTAL ATTACKS DRIVE MANFROM DELTA HOME

By Nicholas Ebegboni

The Ihiekonye family of Abavo, Delta State, is making an urgent appeal for justice and a renewed investigation into a series of traumatic events that have upended their lives, culminating in the forced displacement of their son, Ihiekonye Ezekiel Onyeka.

The family's plea follows a devastating sequence of loss, unfounded accusations, and a brutal act of violence that compelled Ezekiel to flee his ancestral home.

Mr. Celestine Ihiekonye, father of Ihiekonye Ezekiel Onyeka.

The ordeal began with the tragic deaths of Ezekiel's two cousins, Ewere Ihiekonye and Fidelis Ihiekonye, along with his best friend and business partner, Oyinye Okoh, whom he considered a brother. All three were victims of Boko Haram's ongoing insecurity on April 10, 2022.

Ezekiel, who had employed his cousins on his poultry farm in Garga, Kanam Local government, Plateau State. was met not with sympathy but with hostility upon the news of their passing.

The mother of the deceased, consumed by grief, turned her anguish into a campaign of threats and harassment against Ezekiel and his immediate family.

This aggression stemmed from her long-standing disapproval of her sons working in the North.

The severity of the harassment necessitated the involvement of the Abavo Police Station, where Ezekiel’s father, Ihiekonye Celestine, lodged a formal complaint on June 28, 2022.

The situation escalated dramatically when Ezekiel returned to Abavo for his cousins' funerals, a few weeks prior  the solemn occasion, he was abducted.

During his captivity, Ezekiel was subjected to a brutal machete attack, sustaining severe injuries.

His parents were then forced to pay a substantial ransom for his release. Following his freedom, Ezekiel was issued a chilling directive: he was "never to be seen in that village" again.

This direct threat left him with no option but to abandon his home and community, effectively severing his ties to Abavo.

"Our family has endured unimaginable pain," stated Ihiekonye Celestine. "We lost two nephews to terrorism, and then our son was attacked and driven from his home because of baseless accusations and a vengeful act. We seek justice for Ezekiel and a safe path for him to return without fear."

The Ihiekonye family urges the relevant authorities to re-examine this case with the urgency and diligence it demands.

They call upon law enforcement to ensure accountability for those responsible for Ezekiel’s kidnapping and assault, and to create an environment where he can safely return to his community without fear of reprisal.

IPOB members run for safety as Nigerian Government declares war on them

IPOB members run for safety as Nigerian Government declares war on them

Members of the indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB  are currently,on the run for the safety of their lives following the declaration of war against them by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

IPOB members  have in their recent activities intensified agitations for the actualization of the sovereign state of Biafra. Unfortunately, the development was strongly condemned by the Nigerian Government,  hence, it has continued to arrest and prosecute IPOB members anywhere they are found in the country.

Part of the group's agitations was for the Nigerian Government to free its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kalu from detention. Also, it could be recalled that the people of Southeastern Nigeria have for the past six decades been fighting for secession and the creation of their own sovereign country, Biafra.

Our reporters who were at the scene of the February 9, 2016 IPOB protest at National High School, Aba, Abia State,  Nigeria witnessed high display of violence and the exchange of firearms between Nigerian security agencies, including the army and IPOB members.Mostly affected in the bloody clash were youths who were subjected to torture by soldiers for refusing to quit IPOB. Eighteen persons died in the protest. Some of the people who spoke to Journalists said that the atrocities of Nigerian soldiers against IPOB members have called for a great concern. They recalled how people were killed, houses, shops and markets were destroyed  by soldiers. They mentioned names of key IPOB members who led the protest to include: Ndu Chiemena, Sam Agbor, Francis Okolie, Calistus Nnaji and  Rowland Igbo. They noted that these IPOB leaders have lost their businesses, houses and family members to the Nigerian soldiers deadly attacks.

Again, the aforementioned IPOB leaders have been declared wanted by the Nigerian Government.

Meanwhile, IPOB members have gradually lost their values in Nigeria as they are now seen and labelled as enemies of the country. Their safety in Nigeria have now become a serious issue, hence, they are traveling out of the country in search of safety and comfort.

However, a respected community leader from Southeastern Nigeria, Chief Timothy Igwebuike, in an interview advised IPOB members and leaders who were able to travel out of  the shores of Nigeria to do everything possible not to return to the country as their safety is no more guaranteed. He appealed to other countries in the world to always accommodate IPOB members  for they are hardworking and resourceful.

It was also gathered that Ehigie Sunday Daniel was declared wanted by the Police on the 31st of March, 2025.

In a bit to ascertain the truth about the allege killing of the cattle by Daniel, effort was made by newsmen to interview the leader of the Fulani Cattle Rearers, Isah Armed Muhammad.

In his interview, Isah Armed Muhammad stated that the people of Igbanke Community will not know peace in their lives until they provide Daniel to pay for the damages and pains he had caused them.

The Fulani Leader further noted that all Fulani herdsmen in Edo State have met and resolved to kill Daniel anytime they find him unless he pays for the cattle he poisoned.

Journalist, when visited Igbanke Community on the 1st of April, 2025 discovered that Mr. Ehigie Sunday Daniel ran away from Nigeria because he was declared wanted for the killing of the cattle belonging to herdsman terrorizing his farm.

According to a source who spoke to newsmen on the condition of anonymity, disclosed that for a very long time, Fulani herdsmen have been destroying Daniel's crops with their cattle. That Daniel has warned them several times to stay away from my farm but they refused.

The source said the Fulani Herdsmen claimed that they have settled the chief and elders of Igbanke Community and so their cattle can graze anywhere they wish to graze.

The source said that Daniel having seen all this happening to him, felt so bad because he can not imagine seeing what he laboured for with a huge amount of money being destroyed by the herdsmen.

According to the source, "There was one of the incidents where the Fulani Herdsmen attacked Daniel's father and his niece in the farm, and in their attempt to rape his niece his father disagreed by engaging in a serious fight with them and in the process, his father was over powered and one of the Fulani Herdsmen used the head of his gun to hit the old man head, he father collapsed and they succeeded in rapping his niece and before they could take his father to the hospital, he passed away.

Infact, Daniel and his family have faced a lot attacks in the hands of the Fulani Herdsmen.

"Since then Daniel's mother has not completely regained the trauma. So out of anger, Daniel decided to apply insecticide in his farm and crops. Eventually, it happened as he planned it such that the insecticides killed their cattle after grazing on the crops. I learnt that Daniel applied the chemical to kill the cattle for revenge so we cannot blame him.

"The Fulani Herdsmen have made several attempts to kill Daniel and when he  knew they were very serious about it he had to run for his dear life.

Gay practice: Angry residents set  25 years old man ablaze, as partner narrowly escapes death

By Uche Iweka

It was indeed a sad moment for two gay partners in Agbor, Delta State, Nigeria as angry residents took laws into their hands by attacking them mercilessly. The two gay partners who were identified as, Amuta Chuks and Chilka Ifeanyi were seriously engaged in gay practice until their illicit act was exposed on August 3, 2013., after they were caught by Amuta Chuks uncle and the father of Chika Ifeanyi, Mr Ifeanyi later raised an alarm that attracted residents of the area.

The residents who were not able to control their anger pounced on Amuta Chuks and Chilka Ifeanyi, hitting them repeatedly with sticks and stones. Unfortunately, Chika Ifeanyi, 25 years old artisan was set ablaze in the process while Amuta Chuks who was already injured narrowly escaped from the hands of the angry residents..

Some of the angry residents who spoke in separate interviews with Journalists said that Amuta Chuks and Chilka Ifeanyi have committed an abominable act by engaging themselves in gay practice, noting that they must face the consequence of their actions so as to appease the gods of Agbor Kingdom.

According to the residents, "We will not be alive and watch two brothers destroy our land with their evil gay practice. We don't want evil in our land, gay is evil, we will never allow it to thrive in our land and anyone caught practicing gay in Agbor will be killed. We are happy that we set Chika Ifeanyi ablaze, the same punishment will be given to Amuta Chuks any time we are able to catch him anywhere in Nigeria. We have contacted the police and other security agencies who are now beaming their search lights on Amuta Chuks. Both the Delta State Government and the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria are seriously looking for Amuta Chuks and his cohorts. We will not relent until gay practice is completely destroyed in our land".

It could be recalled that the Federal Republic of Nigeria has since condemned gay practice in the country and anyone caught in the act will face a jail sentence of 14 years without any option of fine.

Meanwhile, efforts to reach Amuta Chuks was not successful as his phone line was switched off at the time of writing this report. However, a family member of Amuta Chuks who chose to be anonymous said that his brother has committed a great abomination and should be punished according to the native laws of the land and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He urged him to be careful anywhere he is as the Nigerian government is seriously prepared to arrest and prosecute gays in the country.

When contacted, the Delta State Police Command through its Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright confirmed the gay incident and assured that Amuta Chuks and other men engaging in gay practice in Nigeria will be penalized.

FULANI HERDSMEN INVADES ABAVO COMMUNITY IN DELTA, KILLS, RAPES, PLUNDERS INDIGENES FARM LANDS

Published October 20, 2022

Nicholas Ebegboni

Indigenes of Abavo community in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State has raised alarm over the activities of Fulani herdsmen raining terror on the community.

Reports indicate that these individuals have been terrorizing the local people of Abavo for some time now, through acts of murder, violence, sexual assault, and abduction for ransom.

However, the severity and frequency of these attacks have greatly escalated since 2020

                              Published October 20, 2022

Some Indigenes of Abavo community who spoke in condition of anonymonity said, this month of October 2022 have further intensified the situation, as the so-called herdsmen invaded and destroyed the farmlands of several families, including the Ehiwarior family, Egwuanimkwu Sunday, Benjamin Kiwogun, Osemeha Johnson, Uwaya Julius, and others. Disturbingly, sources reveal that when these families attempted to resist these invaders by speaking out and teaming up with the local vigilante group, and also because of their religious beliefs, they became targets.

They disclosed that, the herdsmen went after these families who spoke out against their evil act and that the herdsmen threatened to kill members of these families where ever they see them. This according to the indigenes, made those families to run for their lives.

They revealed that the Fulani herdsmen, boasted that, all of Nigeria belongs to them, as they specifically targeted those who stood up against their intrusion. This people were also picked  for attack because of their religious beliefs.

According to sources, the herdsmen proclaimed that anyone who defies them would face the consequences of having themselves and their entire family members dealt with severely. On further investigation, reports have uncovered a shocking truth about these terrorists. They possess advanced weaponry and carelessly bring their cows onto innocent civilians' farmland, leaving a path of destruction in their wake.

Not only do they cause economic devastation, but they also commit horrifying acts such as murder, assault, rape, and kidnapping for money.

The Delta State Government on it part, is not doing enough to safe the situation as several appeal has been made to the government of Dr. Sen.Ifeanyi Okowa the Executive Governor of Delta State, and nothing was done, members of the community now leave in fear.

These barbaric herdsmen have been known to target areas like Obiayema, Oyoko, Abavo Central, Abavo Owa Oyibu road, villages along the railway line in Ika South LGA, and other surrounding villages.

They operate like ghosts, swiftly descending upon their chosen targets and disappearing into the safety of the bushes before anyone can react. Sources revealed that they have complete control over the bushes in Ika South.

The most recent kidnap incident, was the one that happened in Agbor, Delta State, on June 13, 2024 where six persons were kidnapped by Fulani herdsmen along the Owa Alero/ Idumuesah Road, Agbor. The six  kidnapped persons were dragged into a nearby forest where they were subjected to different kinds of torture until the Anti-Kidnap Unit of the Nigerian Police, Delta State Command came to their rescue after five days of living in the kidnappers den. Unfortunately, two persons (couple) were killed.

Meanwhile, It could be recalled that kidnapping has reached an alarming rate in Nigeria as no part of the country is spared anymore. Victims of the monster and unrepented kidnappers while in their den always suffer all the kinds of torture, sexual abuse, mental trauma and in some cases, death. Heavy amount of monies are usually paid to the kidnappers before any of the abducted victims regained freedom. Though, the Nigerian government has been doing its best to put a stop to kidnapping in the country, unfortunately, no meaningful result has been achieved as news on the activities of kidnappers keeping pouring in each day.

It is a grim reality that the people of Abavo community are defenseless against these ruthless terrorists. The local vigilante group, armed with only dane guns and double barrel shotguns, is no match for the sophisticated weapons carried by the herdsmen.

It seems that these terrorists can continue their despicable activities without any consequences, further adding to the helplessness of the community.

As at the time of filing this report, most of the families mentioned have fled Abavo community with all their family members, leaving their farmlands behind, as according to sources, their lives were more important to them.
