                          Mr. Theophilus Patrick Isioma

Ika Weekly Newspaper Correspondent as at the time of filing the report, learnt that the victim, Mr. Theophilus Patrick Isioma was kidnapped on his way to check a land he wanted to purchase at Emuhu Community, on 3rd of June, 2023.

Narrating his little experience with the kidnapped victim on the 12th of August 2023, Mr. Kennedy Okorocha, a member, Delta State Community Policing, Aka Vigilante Group, Emuhu Unit in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, said that he met Patrick in the bush on his way to the farm, struggling between life and death.

                                   The Kidnappers

According to him, "I was the one who rushed the young man, Mr. Theophilus Patrick Isioma to Mother and Child Government Specialist Hospital, Owa-Alero for medical treatment, to save his life if not, the young man would have died of internal injuries in the bush.

"He managed to talk to me on our way to the hospital. He told me that he was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on his way to check a property he was planning to buy from somebody. He said his friends who was going with him narrowly escaped from the kidnappers through the bush the moment he sited them standing on the road.

"He also told me that he spent over two months and seventeen days in the forest with the kidnappers, before his people were able to pay the huge amount of ransom demanded for him to be set free from the captivity," he said.

Also as at the time of gathering this information, all efforts made by the Journalists to speak with the victim, Mr Theophilus Patrick Isioma proved abortive, as he was not comfortable enough to address them due to the unconsciousness of his health condition.

It was also reported that ever since the release of Mr. Theophilus Patrick Isioma from the kidnappers, nobody knows his whereabouts, whether he travelled or has been kidnapped again, no one is aware of that.

The abduction of Mr. Theophilus Patrick Isioma was not the first or second to take place in Ika land. Since the year 2012 till date, over four hundred people have been abducted in Ika land, to the extent that people can longer have access to their farms.

Nigeria is not save anymore. People are being kidnapped everyday, particularly the farmers. Our women will be raped molested and killed by the said kidnappers. Our kings and other Community leaders are getting tired of the whole situation.

The people therefore call on the government to take proactive actions in tackling the situation before it gets out of control, because kidnapping has become the order of the day in all states of the country.
