TWO KIDNAPPED WOMEN REGAIN FREEDOM AFTER RANSOM PAYMENT

Two women who were kidnapped at a bad spot on Mbiri Farm Settlement Road in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State, have finally regained their freedom after payment of One million naira (#1,000,000) ransom.

The women were said to have been abducted on Thursday June 13, 2024, and were released on Friday June 14, 2024, after payment of the ransom.

One of the women, Mrs. Wisdom, who narrated her ordeal, said that the kidnappers were four in number and were speaking Fulani language, saying that she with three other women were on their motorcycles when the four abductors,  covered with faces mask, jumped out from the bush and held them.

She added that the two other women among them were fast and able to escape, saying that the miscreants took and walked them through the bush and threatened to kill them if they refused to cooperate with them.

She stated that she and the other woman were mercilessly beaten by the abductors, hinting that they also inflicted them with injuries from machete cuts.

In her words, “As they held us hostage and marched us into the bush, they threatened to kill us if we do not cooperate with them; We walked for many hours in the bush without knowing where were and at a point, they and at that point, they stopped us and threatened to kill us again, but I pleaded with them that we are breast feeding our new born babies; They asked me about my husband but I told them that my husband is late, they asked the other woman, she told them that her husband left her and her children; They believed us and said they need to call and report to their boss; After calling their boss, they demanded #20,000,000 as ransom but I told them I do not have such huge sum of money; After much negotiations, we paid #1,000,000”, she concluded
