Insecurity: Play your part, blaming people in government will not proffer any solution-- Joe Morgan to critics

By Angela Agbini

As Fulani herdsmen and their cohorts continued unabated in their kidnapping and inhuman activities in Ika Land,( Ika North East and Ika South Local Government Areas in Delta State), an indigene of Ika  and a famous musician, Ambassador Joe Morgan, has advised critics to jettison the idea of standing aloof and wait for government to fight for them.

Morgan, who stated this during his recent online video message to the people  expressed dissatisfaction over the attitude of some stakeholders in the area who continued to blame people in government on issues they can easily play their own part effectively .

The Oworwor King noted that he was not out to defend any government official but, to explain the reason why everyone should learn how to protect himself or herself against the killer Fulani herdsmen.

He declared that he is not speaking in favour of anyone or to attack anyone , but to sensitize residents of the area on the need for them to protect themselves against kidnappers.

He said that if everyone in Ika Land is able to play a significant role in security issue, the battle against insecurity would have long been addressed.

He stated that he is genuinely concerned about safety, hence, he is  doing his online advocacy on the reason why Agbor and Ika Land in general should be secured.

He added that anyone misinterpreting his role on insecurity should have a rethink and join efforts with both government and individuals to drive kidnappers who are mainly Fulani herdsmen  away from Ika Land.
