Speaking with Ika Weekly Newspaper Reporters during an interview, an IPOB Commander, Mr. Ojirahi Michael, stated that IPOB as a formidable group, was founded in the year 2012 by Nnamdi Kanu, an Igbo born British Political Activist to ensure his people's freedom and Independence from the hands Nigerian Government.

According to him," On that fateful day, myself as one of the zonal leader of IPOB and other IPOB supporters across the South-East region were on a peaceful demonstration when a battalion of the Nigerian Soldiers arrived and suddenly open fire on us, killing over forty five persons. Many of us managed to escape while some of us who could not escape due to the bullet wounds on their bodies, were arrested and taken to the military base," he said.

A Military man who gave his name as Usman Muhammad, while addressing newsmen during their visit to the Owa-Alero Community residence of Mr. Ulakpa Monday, said that the Government has given them matching order to shoot whoever they see parading himself as a Biafran. He therefore informed that Mr. Ulakpa Monday and other wanted persons will be used as deterrent to other biafrans by ensuring that they face the wrath of the law when they are apprehended.

Oil discovery tears Ute-Ohenze apart, many villagers killed

Oil discovery tears Ute-Ohenze apart, many villagers killed

By Kelvin Ideh

The once quiet and peaceful agrarian community, Ute-Ohenze, in Edo State, has been torn apart following series of crises that have engulfed the community since oil(petrol) was discovered in the area. Indeed, trouble started in early 2011 when Pan Ocean Oil Company visited the community and announced the discovery of crude oil. The news of the discovery threw the  government abandoned community into joy, having put into consideration the huge gains accrued to host community. Unfortunately, reverse became the case as Ute-Ohenze Community rather than enjoy oil benefits as a host community was engulfed by serious internal wars.

A prominent indigene of the war ravaged community and strong stakeholder who spoke to newsmen on the condition of anonymity revealed by saying, " Ute-Ohenze is burning at the moment, our palace has been burnt down with fire. Many of our houses have been set on fire and farms destroyed. Everyone in our community has ran away to seek for safety somewhere. I managed to escape by the whiskers and as I speak with journalists right now I do not know the whereabouts of my wife and children."

He further disclosed," that the highest victims of the ugly incident were his elder brother's wife and children who were all   trapped in their building and fire was set on them.  He stated that the only member of the family who survived the evil  attack was Okwuesi Monday but he later disappeared from the community owing to multiple threats on his life.

He noted, " We were living peacefully in our community,Ute- Ohenze, in Edo State until Oil was discovered. The oil prospecting company, PAN Ocean at the beginning created avenue for such ugly incident to happen. The community was totally abandoned by the company which  was sharing money to few persons in the community, including the King. The cat was let out of the bag after the king of the community alongside some of his Chief embezzled the  two hundred million naira (200,000,000) from Pan Ocean. Attempts to collect the money from the king and his cohorts triggered the war which unfortunately led to the death of almost one hundred persons with many injured. The worst affected was the Okwuesi family where only Okwuesi Monday survived the deadly attack.

When contacted,  Nigeria Police, Edo State Command confirmed the report of the crisis and vowed to prosecute all members of the community who war against their King. The command listed Okwuesi Monday, Okafor Dunkwu, Ewere George, Ndidi Okoh, Imafidon Jacob, Jerry Iweka, among other youths in the community as wanted men by police. He promised that the command will prosecute all the aforementioned persons anywhere they are caught.

When journalists visited the crisis ridden Ute-Ohenze Community recently, it was completely empty as all the villagers had ran away to different locations.

Land dispute:  Land grabbers declare war against Ngere family

By Oti Okoro

It is really a difficult moment for the Ngere family of Agbor, Delta State, Nigeria following a recent Land dispute in the community. The dispute unfortunately, has claimed the life of the patriarch of the  family, Pa Ngere who was kidnapped and murdered in cold blood by gun men who were hired by agents opposed to the Ngere family's ownership of some plots of land in Agbor

The dispute which took a different dimension in late December, 2014 after a clash involving the Ngere family and the Iand grabbers claimed one life.

A member of the Ngere family who spoke on the condition of anonymity said that his family members were working in the family Land when, suddenly, a group of men  stormed the land and ordered that they should leave. He disclosed that the argument the attack generated triggered a serious fight between members of the Ngere family and the land grabbers. Pa Ngere's son,  Ngere Buchi in an attempt to escape the attack hit one of the intruders on the head. The injured victim was reported dead after staying three days in coma in the hospital.

He stated that the death incident led to the outright declaration of war against the Ngere family with Ngere Buchi as the number one suspect. However, Ngere Buchi' s father became a victim when his son ran away from the community. The innocent old man was kidnapped and killed by the land grabbers.

Our reporters reliably gathered that Ngere Buchi is still on the run, as he has not been seen anywhere since he escaped the attack.

In tears another member of the Ngere family declared that their lives are in danger, particularly that of Ngere Buchi as a very serious armed group are combing everywhere in Nigeria to get him killed.

He prayed God to protect every member of his family, including Ngere Buchi who he said has been advised to remain in his hiding place for safety reasons.

I am form agbor delta state Nigerian. In December 2014 I was in my home town when we were working inside our land, some group of men came in and asked us to go out of the land which we started and aggueing and in the curse of that we started fighting. I mistakenly hit one of them with a stick on the head and he slumped and fell down. He was immediately rushed to the hospital and was later confirmed dead by the doctor after 3 days in comer. When he was confirmed dead I immediately ran to onitsha where I made my way to Kanu and the family started looking for me. Not being able to find me they adopted my father and killed him for refusing to give them the information of my where about. I noticed my life was in Denger if I remain in Nigeria so I decided to flee to Libya which I left Kanu on the 27 of December. On getting to Libya my friend told me that they have already adopted my father and killed him that I made the right choice to have left immediately

OGBONI FRATERNITY SUCCESSION SCANDAL: ONE DIES, ANOTHER FLEES

OGBONI FRATERNITY SUCCESSION SCANDAL: ONE DIES, ANOTHER FLEES

The quest for a replacement of Mr. Frederick Ifeanyi’s position as the Second in Command of Ogboni Fraternity has led to the death of his son, Kingsley Ifeanyi as the elder son whose name was given as Harrison Ifeanyi has taken to his heels to an unknown destination.

Harrison Ifeanyi

Following the death and burial of Mr. Frederick Ifeanyi, who hails from Idumuesah in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State on the 4 of April, 2016, the Ogboni Fraternity whose Headquarters is located at Agbor-Obi, Ika South LGA of Delta State has not seized to trouble the family of their late member over his replacement in the fraternity as the once peaceful family has now been in chaos and disarray, investigations reveal.

According to a reliable source, it was gathered that according to the culture of the fraternity, a ranking member of the secret cult upon his demise, is supposed to bring any of his sons into the brotherhood to succeed him and if possible, initiate the would-be successor into the brotherhood before their demise, revealing that the aim was to keep up their numerical strength, save the brotherhood from going into extinction and also sustain the legacy of the deceased member upon their demise.

                          Mr. Frederick Ifeanyi

It was discovered that contrary to this, Mr. Ifeanyi failed to provide a successor while alive as his elder son, Harrison Ifeanyi who was supposed to succeed him declined on the ground that he was a Christian and would want to serve God in heaven through His son, Jesus Christ and not to soil his hands with the evils which the members of the brotherhood are involved such as; killing, possession of evil powers and rituals.

It was revealed that he had on several occasions, described the brotherhood as ‘darkness and satanic,’ saying that there is no connection between light and darkness and he would not want to belong to group or association that will truncate his relationship with God.

However, upon the burial of his father, late Mr. Frederick Ifeanyi, a delegation of the brotherhood while on a condolence visit, reiterated their stand over the replacement of their father and the impending danger if their late member’s first son refused joining them as their father’s replacement.

It was further gathered that after much persuasions and warnings from the fraternity, the deceased’s second son died while the second son, Harrison took to his heels as he feared that the mishap was a signal that they might come for him next.

In a phone chat with the Media and Public Relations Officer of the Ogboni Fraternity, Mr. Raphael Unozie, he stated that the law binds every member of the brotherhood to provide a successor to the brotherhood so as to replace them upon their demise as failure to do so amounts to chaos, saying that there is nothing any one can do about it.

He noted that providing a successor is an irrevocable order of the brotherhood.

He further noted that the calamity faced by the family of their late member, Mr. Frederick Ifeanyi was as a result of failure to obey the brotherhood’s order which is binding to all, saying that running will not save them as more catastrophe looms if they do not obey the order of the brotherhood.

However, an attempt to reach the widow of the deceased proved abortive, saying that she was not in the right frame of mind to grant any interview.

As at the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of Ifeanyi Harrison is yet to be ascertained.

IDUMUEDAH COMMUNITY, DECLARE PATRICK CHUKWUYEM PEACEMAKER WANTED.

Idumuesah community in Ika Northeast Local Government Atea of Delta State has declared one Patrick Chukwuyem Peacemaker wanted, over what the community called abominations and sacrilege perpetrated by Patrick Chukwuyem.

This was made known to newsmen, during a meeting of Elders- In-Council of the community, held Friday, January 18, 2011, at the community"s town hall (Ogwa).

According to Pa. Joseph Umuede, who spoke on behalf of the Elders -In-Council, Patrick Chukwuyem Peacemaker is needed by the community, to enable the community to perform the need appeasement for the gods of the land over the numerous abominable and sacrilegious acts he has committed against the land.

He said the youths of the community have been given the mandate to find the culprit and bring him to the elders for the needed appeasement to avoid the wrath of the gods of the land, saying that the abominable acts perpetrated by Patrick Chukwuyem will  bring the wrath of the gods down on the community if the appeasement is not carried out

According to Ika Weekly findings, the real reason why the community declared Patrick Chukwuyem wanted was because of his stand against female circumcision, according to a source, Patrick Chukwuyem has been on the neck of the elders of the community to stop female circumcision and that he went as far as destroying the community shrine accusing them of being backward and uncivilized and this act including threatening members of the Elders -In-Council in their homes that if they do not desist from the wicked tradition, he will deal with them.

The source noted that what led to Patrick Chukwuyem destroying the community"s sacred shrine was when his father Oshiegbu Patrick decided to circumcise one of his daughters, Nkem, Patrick Chukwuyem's elder sister and he warned his father not to but the father went ahead and carried out the circumcision and Nkem died in the process. It was disclosed that the death of Nkem Patrick so pained his elder brother Chukwuyem that he destroyed the community"s shrine.

Sources revealed that to add to Patrick Chukwuyem Peacemaker's problem, his father Oshiegbu Patrick belongs to the dreaded Ogboni Confraternity, and the father as the tradition of the secret cult demands, present one of his children to join the cult. According to information made available to Ika Weekly, Oshiegbu Patrick presented Patrick Chukwuyem to the Ogboni Confraternity, but Chukwuyem vehemently refused to have anything to do with the cult and her members.

Sources revealed that his stand annoyed members of the cult and they vowed that if he insists that he will not belong to the cult, he will be sacrificed, and they threatened that no matter where he runs to, as far as he remains on Nigeria soil, they will find him as they boasted that they have their tentacles in every part of the country.

Attempts to reach Patrick Chukwuyem Peacemaker proved abortive as information reaching Ika Weekly is that he may have left the shores of the country in fear of his life.
