ABAVO KINGSHIP TUSSLE: ASUMAH FAMILY RAISE ALARM OVER INTIMIDATION, THREAT TO LIFE, AND MISSING SON

The Asumah kindred in Abavo Kingdom, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, have raised alarm over the intimidation and threat to life against members of their family especially, Pa. Okoh Asumah and his household by King Uche Irenuma II, the assumed monarch of their community.

                  Pa. Okoh Asumah

Addressing journalist, a member of the Asumah family who claim anonymity said enough is enough of the intimidation of King Uche who according to him made himself the monarch of Abavo against will of the people. According to him, “Abavo Community is in bondage with King Uche as the monarch. There is no doubt that over 85 percent of the good people of Abavo are not in favor of King Uche’s leadership of intimidation.

“King Uche took offense at Pa. Okoh Asumah when the Abavo people protested against him for not being their community rightful monarch, thereby requesting that Pa. Okoh Asumah who is the next person in the community leadership to become the monarch and it is constitutional.

“King Uche being a rascal monarch, whose leadership is by thuggery, has continued to torment Pa. Okoh Asumah and his household while threatening to kill them”.

Continuing, the source said that King Uche did his worst by conniving with the police to get Pa. Okoh Asumah arrested alongside his wife, Catherine Asumah whose whereabouts have remained a mystery. He added that King Uche thereafter ordered his thugs to destroy the ancestral home of Pa. Okoh Asumah.

The source concluded by stating that the worry of the Asumah family is the whereabouts of Celestine Asumah, the son of Pa. Okoh Asumah who ran away from Abavo on February 7, 2014, in search of safety because King Uche was after his life.
