The intended peaceful protest for the actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra and for the release of Nnamdi Kanu by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), on December 2, 2015 has claimed the lives of two young ladies who were identified as daughters of one Mr. Okonkwo Iyasere.
The death of the duo, Chioma and Amaka obviously threw the Iyasere family of Anieyeme quarters of Igbodo Kingdom in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State into mourning.
Speaking with newsmen in tears, Mr. Okonkwo Iyasere lamented the death of his two daughters.
According to him, “On that fateful day, security operatives including the army, police and the local vigilantes stormed my residence in Onitsha, Anambra State in search of my son Emmanuel John Iyasere who is an active member of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
“Stray bullet from their gunshots killed two of my daughters, even as many people sustained gunshot wounds.
“I can’t imagine losing my two daughters in one day. It was an unforgettable sight to behold.
“My son (Emmanuel) paid deaf ears to all the advice I gave to him to steer clear of Biafra protest. His refusal has now cost us everlasting pain”.
Mr. Okonkwo Iyasere while stating that he was confused, said the whereabouts of Emmanuel since the incident is unknown, even as the security operatives has declared him wanted.
