IFEANYICHUKWU BENNETT ON THE RUN, DECLARED WANTED
IfeanyiChukwu Bennett, a young man of about 26years has taken to his heels following the death of his accomplice after he luckily escaped death through the jungle justice melted on him by angry mobs after he was caught on Saturday, July 18, 2015 in homosexual act with his accomplice, Dennis Uyo who lost his life in the process.
Bennet and his gay partner were said to have been caught in one of the hotels in Umunede following a tip from one of the hotel attendants who according to sources, suspected their behavior while they were booking ticket to their room. The suspicion was later confirmed when after a while when they were piped through the window, committing the act.
Bennet while fielding questions from the angry mob, pleaded guilty of the crime, blaming his act to the devil.
He further disclosed that he discovered his sexual trait while still in the primary school but started exhibiting it while in the secondary school as he was often attracted and sexually aroused to males rather than females.
He confessed to have received ill treatments and had been stigmatized as a result of his sexual behavior after he was caught in June, 2003 in the school toilet having illicit sexual affair with a fellow boy; the act which had forced his parents to disown him if he doesn’t refrain from the act.
Speaking on how he met Dennis, he said he met Dennis in secondary school but that it had remained a secret for fear of being lynched or arrested until they ran out of luck on the 18th day of July, 2015.
However, Bennet escaped following the early intervention of some security operatives while Dennis Uyo was certified dead few hours after he was rushed to the hospital.
As at the time of filing this report, Bennet’s father, was said to have died of high blood pressure as a result of the shock from the news of gruesome beating melted on his son and the uncertainty of his whereabout.
In a statement released by the Nigerian Police Force, ASP Akunnaya Ihedioha, the District Police Officer of Umunede Divisional Police Headquarters, while condemning the gruesome attack on the duo, has declared Bennett wanted over the nefarious act, saying that they are bent to completely eradicate the country of the endemic practice.
