In the early hours of Monday April 8, 2019, passerby and
onlookers at Uromi Junction by former Mr. Biggs witness an accident
scene where a Dangote Truck driver, alleged to be driving against
traffic killed a young electrical automobile apprentice who was said to
be heading for breakfast that morning.
According to our source, an angry mob left the accident scene 15 – 20
minutes later and evaded the Hausa community with sticks and cutlasses
to attack innocent Hausa indigenes that had no knowledge about the
accident simply because the driver was from their tribe. The mob
destroyed the windscreen of several Dangote trucks parked along
Uromi/Igbanke road after which they started attacking law abiding Hausa
indigenes trading along the road all in an attempt to retaliate the

who came along with security operatives and diplomatically halted the
youth’s invasion into the Hausa community preventing them from further
actions. His presence along with the security operatives scared the
angry mob away as they scampered away
The youth leader of the Hausa community Ika South, known as Gaddafi
told Ika Weekly that he had told his people to be calm and not attack in
retaliation while the mob was damaging their trucks, throwing stones
and assaulting them. He added that his people had to flee to Igbanke and
other areas for safety until the arrival of Hon. Festus Okoh with the
security operatives. In his words, Gaddafi Said, “It was when Hon. Chuky
Dandy came with his security operatives that everywhere became calm, we
had to call our people to come back that peace had been restored and
that nothing is going to happen again. I specially want to thank Hon.
Chuky Dandy for his intervention, the way he addressed us gave us
confidence, he is a very good leader. There was no Agbor youth leader
that addressed us or came to apologize even after the matter happened
but we leave everything to God. Again I want to thank the Dein of Agbor
who immediately sent his chiefs to ensure that we are safe and
comfortable”.
He further said that the Hausa community had settled in Uromi
junction part of Agbor since 1906 and that most of them there currently
were born and brought up in Agbor and have become a part of the Agbor
Kingdom. He admonished the elders and leaders to always speak out
against such acts of taking laws into ones hand emphasizing that it has
grievous consequences, he also urged Agbor youth leaders to be
pro-active and not let matters escalate before reactions. He also said
that not all of the Hausa persons among them are known to them, that
some of them are unknown to the community. Addressing the angry Agbor
youths, who had already set the truck which killed their friend ablaze,
he cautioned them to stop taking the laws into their hands so as to
ensure that the justice is established.
The Ika South Local Government Chairman, Hon. Barr. Victor Okoh, who
also visited the Hausa community in company of the Agbor Police Area
Commander sued for peace, they also sympathized with the family of the
deceased accident victim.
The
Ukpere family in Abavo, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State,
Nigeria has declared one of their sons, Ukpere Emmanuel missing.
Speaking
with journalists after an enlarged meeting of the Ukpere family held
on January 20, 2016, the head of the family, Pa. Ukpere Thomas said that
Ukpere Emmanuel was last seen on January 1, 2016 and ever since, his
whereabouts has remained unknown.

before Ukpere Emmanuel sudden disappearance, his life was under threat
over his refusal to appear before the Delta State High Court in Asaba to
bear false statement in favour of Obi Uche Irenuma to reclaim his
throne which was being challenged by Prince Sunday Ekhartor.
"The
Obi Irenuma unfulfilled quest for him to testify has made our son,
Ukpere Emmanuel to start running for his dear life as the Obi has
threatened to kill him for disobeying his order”.
Pa. Ukpere said members of his family have met to offer prayers for the life of their missing son and brother, Ukpere Emmanuel.
He
used the opportunity to call on members of the public that His Royal
Majesty, Uche Irenuma should be held responsible for whatsoever that
happens to Ukpere Emmanuel.
He concluded by expressing sadness over the nonchalant attitude the police in Abavo Division are handling the matter.
The Honourable Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education,
Hon. Chinedu Ebie had on the flag-off of the Advocacy for the Teaching
of Indigenous Languages in Selected Pilot Schools in Delta State, said
that it a wrong thing to do, teaching students who will end up not
comprehending what is taught. This he said is a result of using alien
languages like English and French to teach our Nigerian children who
struggle to make meaning out of these languages before understanding the
message.
The advocacy programme which was held at Olorogun Felix Ibru
Conference Hall, Asaba on Tuesday 9, April 2019 had the presence of the
representatives of Ika, Isoko, Izon, Urhobo, Ukwani, Enuani and
Itsekiri.
In his keynote address, Hon. Chinedu Ebie among other things, said,
“teaching without total comprehension is wrong, hence the 6th edition
(2014) of the Federal Government National Policy on Education (at pages
8-16) proposes the usage of our mother tongue or language of immediate
environment as the language of instruction. It is also well known that a
strong mother tongue foundation equips children with skills they need
to learn additional languages, allowing them to transfer their
understanding of the structure to several new languages.”

Also speaking at the event, Mrs. Christie Akako commended Hon. Ebie
for the promotion of the teaching and learning of indigenous languages.
Her words, “I commend the Honourable Commissioner for Education for his
giant strides towards the promotion of the teaching and learning of
indigenous languages.” She went on to say, “the population of our
country was recently estimated at 198 million inhabitants. Although
Nigeria has three major tribes-Hausa in the North, Ibo in the East and
Yoruba in the West, the country has over 250 ethnic groups and by
implication about 250 languages as well. Leaders of thought have made
efforts to see that indigenous Nigerian languages are taught in our
schools. One educational psychologist once said that a child understands
better what is taught in mother tongue than the school language. This
is because at birth the mind of a child is totally empty and whatever
value he is taught, whether formally or informally will register
automatically in his mind, such a thing becomes indelible,” she said.
According to Mr. MC Bioseh, the Director of Education Resource
Centre, “a biblical allusion to the Tower of Babel brings to the fore
the importance of language in growth and development of a people. The
builders of that skyscraper had their ambition crushed when their
language was confused. There is therefore compelling need to urgently
promote the teaching of indigenous languages in our schools. As a group
or community that is mutually intelligible in communication, we become
more united and organized. Presently, our languages are dying or
completely dead since many of us can no longer communicate effectively
in our mother tongue.”
It was an interesting event which ended with charge to revamp the
lost interest of our indigenous languages and those who honoured the
occasion returned enlightened, some publicly avowing to be communicating
with their children in their local language henceforth.

Abraham Usoboh,my brother was born on the 24th of April, 1996 into the
family of Mr and Mrs Usoboh of Iguben Local Government Area of Edo
State, Nigeria.He is from a family of five children.He is the first
child and the only son of my parents. My dad was wealthy and we were
living a happy and healthy life.We are all christians except my Dad. We
never really knew the source of his wealth but he was successful in his
business and also has companies, houses, cars and many other properties.

As the agitation for the realization of the sovereign state of Biafra
heightens,the Nigerian Army has declared Calistus Okafor,Uche
John, Osawaru Lytt and other members of Independent People of
Biafra(IPOB)wanted.This was sequel to a renewed agitation of the group
after the arrest of its national leader, Nnamdi Kalu by soldiers on
October 14,2014.The soldiers acted on a tip off and raided one of the
meeting places of the group where the group was planning a sit at home
protest the next day.
The most wanted members of the group our reporters gathered live in Onitsha and Asaba,the Delta State capital .
According to a reliable source many members of the group were arrested
the day their camp was raided by soldiers on December 2,2015 in
Asaba.Unfortunately,Calistus Okafor,Uche John,Osawaru Lytt and other few
members of the group escaped by the whiskers.
Some
members of the group who were arrested in the process are still in the
custody of the Nigeria Army as the whereabouts of other run away members
are still not known .
As at the time of filling
this report,the Nigeria Army and other security agencies in the country
have beamed their searchlight on the IPOB members and leaders of
group.If caught they will be prosecuted according to the constitution of
the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
COMMUNAL CLASH: BLOODBATH IN UTE COMMUNITY OVER OIL DISCOVERY

30th November 2013, was indeed a very sad day for members of Ute
Community and the household of late Mr. Monday Onyekachukwu, whose
entire family members were gruesomely murdered in cold blood, including
other 90 indigenes of the agrarian community that were also hacked to
death; following the communal clash between two neigbouring communities,
they are Ute and Oza communities, with both, fighting over the
ownership of the oil that was discovered in one of the communities some
months ago.
Speaking
to newsmen on what led to the attack and bloodbath, an indigene of Ute
community who spoke on condition of anonymity, stated that with the
discovery of oil in the community in one of the lands belonging to late
Mr. Monday Onyekachukwu, who was the youth leader of the Ute-community,
coupled with the declaration of the Delta State government’s intention
on 25th February 2013, to send a professional oil servicing company to
carry out a comprehensive survey of the oil location, in order to
commence exploration; he disclosed that there was reaction from some
prominent members of Oza community that the land where the oil was
discovered belong to them and not the Ute community. With this
development our source stated that when the agitation became unbearable,
authorities of Ika North East Local government area of Delta State, had
to send their officials to the disputed land in order to know the true
owner of the said land.
Continuing,
he stated that after the investigations and survey, by the local
government council authorities, they reaffirmed that the said land
belonged to Ute community; but the decision did not go down well with
members of the Oza community and few days after the verdict of the Ika
North East Local government some youths of Oza community invaded Ute
community, having laid siege in the bush for some days before the
invasion. According to an eye witness, the rampaging youths went
straight to the residence of Mr. Monday Onyekachukwu, the owner of the
land where the oil was discovered; they met him at home in company of
his wife and children. The angry nob who were armed with dangerous
weapons, immediately attacked him and in the process they also killed
his wife Mrs. Onyekachwu and his children, with gun shots and machete;
stating that it was a gory sight to behold.
Our
source also revealed that the eldest son of late Monday Onyekachukwu,
who goes by the name Wisdom Onyekachukwu, was kidnapped by unknown
persons from the community few days before the attack on his father’s
compound.
It
was further gathered that the agitation over the ownership of the land
where the oil was found, had degenerated into a full blown war between
the two communities leading to further bloodletting, with several
members of the community seriously injured and properties worth millions
of naira destroyed.
The
source further stated that the where about of Wisdom Onyekachukwu is
not known, saying that some of the youths from Oza community have
threatened to kill him whenever they set their eyes on him.
The leadership of the Ute community have called on the Delta State
Government and Delta State Commissioner of Police to beef up
surveillance and security patrol in the community in order to forestall
further attack and breach of peace in the community.
Following the deployment of materials, equipment and personnel to
commence construction work at the location where oil was discovered in
Ute Community six years ago, which led to the gruesome murder of Mr.
Monday Onyekachukwu and his entire family members with several indigenes
of the community, and the kidnapping of Wisdom Onyekachukwu, the eldest
son of the late owner of the disputed land.
Information reaching the press, revealed that in January 30, 2019 some
youths from the neighbouring Oza Community, in large number invaded the
oil site in Ute, after over powering the security men at the gate who
were caught unaware, our source disclosed that after gaining entry into
the oil project site, the hoodlums who were fully armed with guns,
machete and other dangerous weapons attacked the people.
It was further gathered that when the news about the attack got to the
leadership of the community, they immediately sent for men of the
Nigeria Police Force to come and repel the rampaging youths from Oza
community. Continuing, it was gathered that before the arrival of the
Nigeria Police, some of the youths of Ute community, went for a
reprisal attack in order to free the persons that were held hostage by
the Oza indigenes. This development, according to our source, gave way
for more bloodletting and the destruction several properties in the
community. He stated that upon arrival, the about 40 stern looking
mobile policemen were able to bring the situation under control, after
arresting some of the Oza youths.
However, the
leadership and elders of Ute community has written to the Delta State
Government to call the elders and the youths of Oza community to order;
emphasizing that they are running out of patience and will not fold
their hands and watch their people being slaughtered daily because of
the natural resources which God has blessed them with; emphasizing that
they are fully prepared for a full blown war with Oza community, even if
it means using the last drop of their blood in fighting for what truly
belongs to them.
Kidnapping is an act of forcefully abducting a person or persons
and holding them captive. While it could be argued that the capturing
and selling of slaves during the era of slave trade was also a form of
kidnapping, Ngwama Justice Chidi in an article published in 2014 in
International Journal of Humanities and Social Science entitled;
Kidnapping in Nigeria: An Emerging Social Crime and the Implications for
the Labour Market, asserted that the first act of kidnapping in Nigeria
was in 2006 when the Niger Delta Militants took some expatriates total
hostage to protest the inequality in the region. The heinous act has
since then taken various dimensions, as government officials, clergy
men, businessmen, civil servants and even children are now victims of
kidnapping.
The motive for kidnapping varies and includes protest, politics,
rituals, sex, slavery, or to generate money in form of ransom. The
victims of kidnapping are subjected to hardship, torture and even death.
In some cases victims end up being killed even after the ransom has
been paid. Meanwhile, some of the victims never recover from the
psychological trauma, which in some cases lead to death. Whatever the
motive may be, kidnapping in all its forms remains an abominable
practice to God and man, as recorded in Exodus 21: 16 and Deuteronomy 24
:7.
While Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike popularly known as Evans is cooling
off his heels in jail, many still remain in the inhumane business paying
deaf ears to its consequences. Only few days ago did the menace rear
its ugly head in Agbor where over five persons, as alleged, were
kidnapped at different places and time.
Though the culprits when caught may blame it on the joblessness and
the economic situation of the country, the fact remains that they are
wicked, selfish, and inhumane. Situations do not change people, rather,
brings out the true characters of people.
While we condemn kidnapping, we also call on the government to take
up responsibilities and provide what is needed for qualified youths of
different skills and educational background to be taken off the streets.
Also, security agents should be up and doing in providing adequate
security for the populace. Individuals should also take security
measures so as not to fall victims of kidnap. These measures include:
avoiding late nights, being observant wherever one goes and with whom
one goes out, and also having emergency numbers on ones phone and always
being at alert.
A
-17- year old gay and an indigene of Agbor, the headquarters of Ika
South Local Government, Delta State, Mr Onyeisi Chuks,has been declared
wanted by the Nigerian Police to face the music of 14 years jail term.

journalists, the Agbor Divisional Police Officer, SP Albert Uchechi
Dike, stated that handsome reward awaits anyone with useful information
that would lead to the arrest of Onyeisi Chuks. He said that the
division is leaving no stone unturned in trying to fish out all those
practicing gay and also address the increasing gay practice in the area,
revealing that homosexualism is a very serious crime that goes against
the religious, cultural and constitutional provisions of the Federal
Republic of Nigeria.

Agbor, the host community of the College of Education (COE), Agbor as he
was caught in the act with one of his gay partner, Johnson Igwe at
Mummy and Daddy Hostel, Alihame on December 22, 2014.
Mr.
Godwin Newman, a native of Ekuku-Agbor in Ika South Local Government
Area of Delta State, has been declared wanted by the Nigeria Police
Force on the 22nd of November, 2016. Over an alleged land dispute
located at 36 Worri/Asaba Road, Ekuku-Agbor in Ika South L.G.A Delta
State.

According
to an undisclosed who testified before the Uboh of Ekuku-Agbor, in Ika
South L.G.A it was gathered that Mr. Godwin Newman has been involved in a
serious land dispute with his uncle.
It
was also gathered that the refuel of Mr. Godwin Newman to consent to
the selling of his father’s property brought a serious conflict which
resulted in severe injuries to Mr. Johnson Owah.
However,
Mr. Johnson Owah who was an uncle to Mr. Godwin Newman lost his life at
Central Hospital, Agbor were he was taken to for medical attention
after sustaining a severe injury. Investigations revealed that Mr.
Godwin Newman has gone into hiding after he heard of the death of Mr.
Johnson Owah for fear of facing the law.
All
efforts made so far to reach him provide abortive as no one seems to
know his whereabout. The police has however called on anyone with useful
information over the whereabout of Godwin Neman to contact the nearest
Police Station.
At the time of filing this report the body of late Johnson Owah has been deposited at the mortuary.
The atmosphere was charged as Ika United beat Abavo United by a
lone goal in a friendly match geared at preparing the young talents
towards the Delta State League Football Season which will commence
soon.The match which was played at the home ground of Ika United at
College of Education Agbor on Wednesday 9th August 2017 and saw Ika
United emerge victorious in a hard fought win over the away side, Abavo
United. Both teams had the opportunities to add to the goal tally, but
failed to take their chances, as the final touch kept eluding them in
front of goal post . The lone goal was scored by the captain of the
side, Ali, in the 65th minute with a well timed pass from the midfield
into the 18yard box of the away team, after playing out a goalless first
half. After the game, the coach of Ika United, Coach IBB, expressed
satisfaction at the match fitness of the players who have been on break,
hailing their performance as satisfactory, even in the face of a hard
fought victory.

Ika United, a football team made up of Ika and non Ika residents ranging
from 14 to 18 years are barely a year old, but has groomed a lot of
young talents who have caught the attention of other top football clubs

Comrade Buzugbe Friday who was present to cheer the team to victory
expressed optimism at the form of the young lads, calling for more hands
to be on deck through partnership, in order to take more talented Ika
youths off the streets through football.
The coach Of Abavo United, Pastor Timothy Ujam said that even in defeat,
his players played a good game, even though they had hoped to win the
fixture, having defeated them in the first leg which was played in their
home ground, Abavo previously. He said the team has groomed over 27
Ika youths who are all now plying their trades abroad, hence the need to
groom younger sets of players.
Coach Ujam called for more sponsorship and partnership of Ika football
by the government and private individuals, to harness more Ika talents
who are yet to be discovered, and take them off the streets by engaging
them in active football. He disclosed that Abavo United Football Club
have played various high profile tournaments, including representing
Anioma region in the Delta State Ethnic Football Tournament, which they
won, and a host of other tournaments.

the death of late Mr. Godday Boi, 58 years old man, an indigene of
Agbor-NTA community, in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Mr.
Godday Boi, who died on 15th September 2015. According to a close
family member who spoke to newsmen on the condition of anonymity,
disclosed that shortly after the burial of late Mr. Godday Boi, some
members of Osenkpika Occultic Society led by Chief Obioma Uwajie, who
approached members of the Boi family with the news that Emeke Boi, the
son of late Godday Boi, who was a committed member of the Occultic Group
before his death; had been chosen by their Great Master (Osenkpika) as
the next person to take over the role of the Chief Priest, the position
which their late father Mr. Godday Boi occupied before his demise,
emphasizing that according to the Occultic Group such position is
hereditary and requested that Emeke Boi, should come to their shrine for
formal initiation.
Continuing,
our source further stated that trouble started when Emeke Boi,
vehemently rejected the idea, maintaining that he being a Christian was
not interested in becoming a member of the occultic society. Following
the continuous visit by members of the group on a regular basis to the
compound of late Mr. Godday Boi, while running for escape from Chief
Obioma Uwajie and some members of the Osenkpika Occultic Group, who were
bent on capturing both Emeke Boi and his younger brother Ifeanyi Boi;
the two brother on sighting the unwelcomed visitors, took the exit back
door of their apartment and escaped into thin air, which unfortunately
caused the death of late Ifeanyi Boi, who fell into an open well in the
process. Speaking further the source revealed that since the Occultic
Group are still looking for Emeke Boi for initiation, he then ran away
for his dear life.
OGBEMUDEIN MODEL SCHOOL, GOVERNMENT FLAGSHIP SCHOOL – Commissioner Ebie
The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Delta State,
Commissioner Ebie has described Ogbemudein Model School in Agbor as
government finest school in Ika South.
Commissioner Ebie stated this during the school’s third annual
inter-house competition held on Friday, March 9, 2018 in the school
premises.
He said the school with state of the art building which according to
him attracts the sight of passersby was near completion when his
administration under the leadership of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa came into
power, and was completed to its befitting standard to give the students
good educational facilities.
Speaking further, Commissioner Ebie expressed happiness that a
capable hand in the capacity as the principal of the school, Mr. Frank
Aziken, has done well so far to maintain the standard of the school. He
also assured the school authority of government continued support.
Meanwhile, the Principal of the school, Mr. Frank Aziken in his
address affirmed that the current improvement in teaching and learning
behaviour of both staff and students since he assumed leadership of the
school was as a result of his good qualities demonstrated as a director
and facilities made available by the government.
He said in as much as the school is grateful to the state government
for the magnificent building, much is still needed, hence he appealed to
the government and individuals to contribute to the development of the
school by way of building a big Hall for external examination, three
staff quarters and corper’s house in the school as well as to help
retrieve the stolen school generator which according to him poses great
challenge, particularly on the area of pumping water for use in the
school. Other needs of the school he listed includes; to encourage
sports activities; Short put, Javelin and Discuss for boys, football
boots, Athletic Jessy, Trophies, Mowers for clearing grass and school
bus.
On his take on the school sporting competition, Mr. Aziken observed
that it was worthy to see parents, guardians and Educators come together
to witness and share the fun of sports with their children. He
emphasized that the importance of sports in schools cannot be
overemphasized, saying that it develops the potentials and skills in a
child for all round development. He noted that the potentials when
positively explored and utilized will build self confidence, self
reliance and self actualization as elements of longevity. It was on this
background that the principal commended Commissioner Ebie and his team
for reawakening the flame of sporting activities in the state. He
thanked Hon. Nduka Irabor for the donation of Lawn Tennis and Basket
ball equipment, providing students with fifty footballs, a coach and
selecting the school as a demonstration site for games. He concluded

On his part, Prince Prof Obika, who stood in for the Chairman of the
occasion, Mr. Steven Ikpade expressed delight on the performance of the
athletes from the various house colours and their patrons. He also
explained that sporting activities is necessary to inculcate discipline
into the children and youths. He therefore urged parents and guardians
that they should always encourage their wards to participate. He also
called for more support for the development of the school.
The sports competition which recorded a huge success in spite of the
heavy down pour attracted the presence of personalities with no mean

The games featured include sack race, match-past, egg race, filling
of empty bottles with water, long & high jump, school relay,
cultural dance and invitation relay for Primary and Post Primary
Schools. The competition was won by Purple house with the total points
of 151, followed by Pink house which clinched the second position with
140 points and Lemon house got the third position with 139 points.
IKA FITNESS ROAD WALK, BEST EVENT IN IKA – FRSC COMMANDER

Sequel to the second edition of the Ika Fitness Road Walk
organised by Carvimial Fitness Centre, which took place recently, the
commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Agbor, Anthony. C. Meta has
described the initiative as the best event that has happened in Ika Land
in recent time.
The fitness walk geared at reviving the walking culture and keeping
fit was carried out between the hours of 6am to 9am along Old Lagos
Asaba Road.
Speaking to an Ika Weekly Newspaper Reporter after the exercise, Mr. Meta said the exercise of physical fitness is paramount.
“By my own assessment, this exercise is the best thing that has
happened in Ika Land, getting physically fit and healthy. We are
inviting people to save their lives through this exercise organized by a
private gym centre. Being a paramilitary agency, we need physical
fitness, which is why we came out in our numbers to participate”.
Mr. Meta stated that the most important thing after godliness is
fitness, hence the need to keep fit. He explained that keeping fit is in
vogue in other cities and round the world, so the importance of
exercises cannot be overemphasized.

He therefore urged all Ika People to embrace exercise, adding that a
sound mind is found in a healthy body. In the same vein, Dr. Francis
Nwabua, the Chief Medical Director, Central Hospital Agbor who
participated in the exercise lauded Carvimial Fitness Centre, FRSC, NIFF
and Ika Weekly Newspaper for organizing the event, saying that, “health
is wealth”.
“In our everyday work, we perform better, when we are fit. The mind
works faster and you look smarter when you are physically fit.
Medically, when we increase the blood circulation in our system, it
awakens blood circulation and keeps us alert against diseases and
infections.
He further stated that the exercise, which takes place on a monthly
basis is a welcome development, stressing that more enlightenment,
should be carried out by Ika Weekly Newspaper and the organizers, in
order to reach out to Ika People on the need to partner in such
exercises, and to also register at the gym centre, to make use of
various equipment which will be beneficial to them.
The exercise “Ika Fitness Walk” is free and open to all Ika residents to participate.
Speaking on the reason behind the initiative, the Director of
Carvimial Finess Center, Dr. Mrs. C. Alordiah, said it was introduced to
revamp the culture of walking which she said is gradually dying due to
people’s consistent use of vehicles. “In recent times, people no longer
trek or walk. Even when you choose to walk, other people will start
mocking you, thinking that it’s due to your inability to purchase a car
or board an Okada. When we were younger, we walked a lot, we did so many
things with our hands, including grinding of pepper, washing of
clothes, and going to the farm”.
“But in this generation, the reverse has been the case, we do not
engage in activities that can exercise us anymore, especially with the
advent of Okada. We eat, but we do not burn out fat, thereby storing
them in our bodies, as problems to our health. That is why we deemed it
fit to bring back the culture of walking,” she revealed. BY Anita Aleh.
An
elderly man identified as Mr. Daniel Emeke was on Friday, 15th March,
2017 allegedly murdered by Friday Peter, his nephew at Ekuku-Agbor
community in Ika South Local Government Area, Delta State during an
incident that could be described as uncalled for.
An
eye witness who spoke to newsmen on the condition of anonymity,
disclosed that the alleged murderer, Friday Peter, who is a Secondary
School boy, was in the kitchen preparing food while his mother Mrs.
Friday was in the bathroom bathing on the early hours of Friday, March
15, 2017 when his uncle entered into the resident of Mr. Daniel Friday,
the late father of peter Friday in an unusual manner.
The
Eye witness further said that immediately the victim, Mr. Daniel Emeke
entered into the compound, he began to shout the name of Mrs. Friday who
was quietly taking her bath in the bathroom. He continued in this
manner until quarrel ensued between the both of them. The source said
that an unusual scene was created when the man made his way into the
bathroom and dragged her out of the bathroom naked. Continuing, the eye
witness further disclosed that as the fight continued between the two of
them, Friday Peter piqued by the ugly incidence, carried a pestle in
the kitchen and hit the man in an attempt to stop the man from
assaulting his mother and the elderly man fell on the floor and was
immediately rushed to nearby hospital where he died. On noticing his
death, Peter ran for his dear life and no one knows where he is till
today.
On hearing this, the community leaders
reported to the security operatives and peter has been declared wanted
by the policemen. The policemen have ever since doubled effort in search
of this young boy. The policemen have even promised a handsome reward
for anyone that has any useful information on his where about.
It
was gathered that prior to the death of Mr. Daniel the family had been
having problem over who should be in possession of the documents of the
properties of late Mr. Daniel Friday, the father of FridayPeter
The
source further revealed that the problem started when Peter’s father
died. The victim, Mr. Daniel had come on several occasions to assume the
properties of his late brother, Mr. Daniel Friday claiming that Peter,
the only son of Mr. Daniel Friday was not old enough to be in
possession of the vita documents.
Concluding,
the source pointed out that Mr. Daniel Emeke had taken the case to the
Council of Elders in Ekuku-Agbor on which the Council of Elders resolved
that the documents should be given to Mr.Daniel Emeke but the children
of late Mr. Daniel had since then rejected the verdict of the Council of
Elders.
Mr.
Onyije Nelson has fled Ekuku-Agbor Community, his home town in Ika
South Local Government Area of Delta State, following the mysterious
death of his Uncle, Onyije Uche who before his death had a
misunderstanding between his father late Mr. Onyije Philip Fred.
Explaining
the circumstances surrounding Mr. Nelson's disappearance, a close
friend of the family who pleaded anonymity, noted that the crisis began
after the demise of Mr. Onyije Uche, Nelson's uncle.
His
late grandfather had a piece of land before his death which
legitimately belonged to his first son, Mr. Onyije Philip Fred, Nelson’s
father. A twist however arose owing to the death of Nelson's father in
November, 2015 followed by the death of his uncle Mr. Onyije Uche, a
year later. After his death, his uncle’s children accused him of killing
their father so as to inherit the piece of land which was left behind
by their grandfather.
To this effect, it was
gathered that his uncle’s children threatened him, saying that their
father dying a year after his own father’s death was orchestrated by
him.
According to our source, Mr. Nelson's
mother, Mrs. Onyije Obi and siblings were forced out of their father’s
house due to the gravity of the threat, thereby, involving the police.
According
to a close friend of the family, Nelson's family has fled the community
to avoid being slain by his uncle’s children since November 30, 2016
after many fights and treats by his late uncle’s children.
At the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of Mr. Onyije Nelson is still unknown to the uncle’s children.
A
34-year-old orphan and taxi driver from Umunede,in Ika North East Local
Government Area,Delta State, Nigeria, Paul Kido has been declared
missing.

According
to a family source, the disappearance of Paul Kido has cut short the
joy of the family,thereby,giving sleepless night to members of the
family . He was last seen middle of March, 2016. He was said to have
fled to an unknown destination because his life was under threat.
Trouble started when he （Paul Kido）impregnated his fiance, Judith
Okolie whose family refused their marriage because of his poor
background and in the process died during child birth on January 20,
2016. As a result of this, the family members of his late wife went
after him threatening to kill him as a pay back of the death of their
sister who they claimed died as a result of lack of care.
Paul
Kido ran for his dear life having escaped several attacks. The Okolie
family has continued searching for Paul Kido, threatening that he must
pay with his life over the careless death of their daughter and sister
before the case will be laid to rest.
Mr.
Oboh Austin, a native of Ogwa Local Government Area, Ekpoma Edo State,
Nigeria has been declared missing following the mysterious death of his
two brothers, Osaro and Kennedy and an attempt to initiate him into his
father's secret cult.
Speaking with the Ika Weekly
correspondent in Edo State, a source who pleaded on the condition of
anonymity, revealed that Austin was declared missing on the 1st of
December, 2015 after the untimely death of his brothers and due to the
fat that his father, Mr. Obohense Salame was threatening to kill him
if he refuses to join his conffraternity.

It was also learnt that Austin
and his family after watching Television on one fateful night, went to
bed. Unfortunately, Osaro could not wake up in the next morning and
the same mysterious death also happened to Kennedy within the interval
of six months. It was observed that both of them vomited blood before
they died.
Speaking further, the source stated
that one day, Austin began to ask his father to know about what led to
the death of his siblings, on that note his father told him to stop
asking him or else he will be the next to die and that when he dies like
his brothers, nobody has right to question him. This threat according
to the source made Austin to go and report the matter in police station,
while the police were carrying out their investigation into the matter,
Austin due to threat to his life by the cultists, travelled to Port
Harcourt. While in Port Harcourt, he was told that his father was sick
and he came home. Unfortunately his father could not survive it. Newsmen
also learnt that after the burial ceremony the cultists still went to
Port Harcourt to meet Austin, urging him to come and takeover his
father's position and that he will die when he refuses to do so.
The
police as at the time of filing this report has assured to do their
possible best to ensure that the cultists and criminals who have been
terrorising the area are brought to book. He therefore advised youths to
desist from social vices as anyone caught practicing such barbaric and
detrimental acts.
