STANLEY FRIDAY RUNS FOR DEAR LIFE OVER CRISIS WITH JULIUS BERGER COMPANY
Late Mr. Ken FridayAs the battle over the Julius Berger Company's failure to fulfil her promise to the concerned youths of Owa-Oyibu Community, the administrative headquarters of Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State became worse, one of the Community Youth Leaders, Mr. Stanley Friday whose younger brother was allegedly short dead during the battle by the Nigerian Soldiers, has run for his safety over threats to his life.

According to the report, Julius Berger Company came to establish in Owa-Oyibu Community with the influence and mandate of His Royal Majesty, Dr. Emmanuel O. Efeizomor 11 JP OON, the Obi of Owa Kingdom in the year 2014. Ever since that time, the case between the unemployed youths and the Julius Berger Company has been on, until it finally broke its silence in November 2018 when Stanley led some youths for the protest and lost his brother.
Ika Weekly Newspaper Reporter as at the time of filing this report, learnt that when the construction company arrived the Owa-Oyibu Community in 2014, they told the youths to pay them the sum of 10,000 each in order to give them employment in the company, but later the company staff changed their mind by refusing to employ the youths as initially agreed on.

Newsman also learnt that upon that disappointment, the youths decided to embark on a protest to the Julius Berger Company to demonstrate and remind them of their promise made to them before the commencement of their full operations. On getting there, the youths met some military personnel at the main entrance of the company, who in the cause of making argument and dragging guns with the soldiers, one of the soldiers opened fire on Mr. Ken Friday, junior brother to Stanley and short him death.
As at the time of filing this report, Mr. Stanley Friday who led the youths to the protest was nowhere to be found, as he has been declared wanted by the police.
