Law against homosexual act according to the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria attracts 14 years jail term. But because it is also considered as an abominable act, persons who are caught always face mob justice which occasionally results to death penalty.
Speaking with journalists’, the commandant of a community policing group named, Delta North Security Network, Friday Okoh disclosed that on May 15, 2019 that they were alerted of a mob action along Andy Iyamah Street in Agbor and quickly responded and discovered that it was an issue of homosexuality involving one Nicholas Ifeanyi Kenneth and his partner Precious Okonta who died on the spot of the mob action.
Continuing, Mr. Friday Okoh said he was reliably informed that the duo were caught in the act by unknown youths in the area who suspected them as gay partners and put them on surveillance. He added that the whereabouts of Nicholas Ifeanyi Kenneth remained unknown as he was said to have disappeared into the thin air.
The Commandant of the security group declared that Nicholas Ifeanyi Kenneth is a wanted person and must be brought to book to face the wrath of the law for his offence.
Others on the condition of anonymity condemned the act of homosexuality, claiming that Nicholas Ifeanyi Kenneth was a born gay as he has been a homosexual right from his primary school days but was overlooked as a child and upon all forms of scolding, he fails to change.
