GUBER 2015 TURNS SOUR AS LABOUR PARTY DRIVER, INEC STAFF, OTHERS ATTACKED BY PDP THUGS


     The April 11, 2015 Governorship Election in Delta State has turned sour, as the Labour Party Bus Driver, Mr. Isaac Michael, Staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) and the Observers were attacked by the Thugs, allegedly hired by the leadership of the opposition party, (PDP), during the voting exercise.



       Speaking with Ika Weekly Newspaper Reporter shortly after the attack, the Returning Officer, Mr. Monday Okoh, stated that they were already in their vehicle, heading to the INEC office to drop the election materials, after a successful collation of the results from the various polling units of the voting center, when the Thugs came to attack them.

      He mentioned that many of the voters, the Observers and his fellow INEC Staff were killed while others sustained serious injuries.

      Also speaking, one of the elders of Idumuesah Community, and father of the Bus Driver, Mr. Eseka Isaac, said that his son, Mr. Isaac Michael was involved in the attack.

      He stated that he has gone to the Police Station to report the matter. He said his son's life is in a great danger. He called on the Government to help look into the matter.

      Meanwhile, at the time of filing this report, over 480 members of the opposition party have been declared wanted by the Delta State Government. 

       The Police was still on ground, carrying out crucial investigations that could lead to the arrest o the wanted persons.
