The
elders of Igbogili Community, Abavo,in Ika South Local Government Area
of Delta State have declared Lucky Okoh, first son of their late Chief
Priest, Ndudi Okoh wanted over his refusal to serve their deity.
Lucky Okoh |
Our
reporter gathered from a source in the community that Lucky Okoh who is
25 years old and a born again Christian fled from his community to
escape the penalty of being killed to appease the gods of the land
because of his refusal to take over the role of his late father as a
Chief Priest which was by inheritance.
The
elders of the community during an emergency meeting held January 9,
2016 promised to reward handsomely whoever comes forth with a useful
information about the whereabouts of Lucky Okoh, declaring that he is
the rightful person to occupy the vacant stool as the tradition of the
community demands.
It
was also gathered that since the death of Chief Priest Ndudi Okoh late
last year and the refusal of his son, Lucky Okoh to take over from him,
there have been records of strange deaths and hardship in the community.
Many
who heard of the matter strongly condemned it, saying that the
constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria guarantees everyone the
freedom of worship and the right to life. They equally lamented the
ill-health of Lucky Okoh, which they said that the trouble he is facing
now with his community, Abavo is capable of worsening his condition.
