A 26-year-old man, Ikechukwu Ekele, the son of late High Chief Priest,' Uti Ikechukwu from Owa-Alero in Ika North East Local Government Area, has been declared wanted by members of his late father’s secret occult society called Osenkpika.
A close family source who did not want his name to be mentioned said, “immediately after the burial of late Pa. Uti Ikechukwu earlier in February, 2014 some members of Osenkpika secrete occult society led by one Okechukwu Peter approached the Ikechukwu family with the news that the first son of their late High Chief Priest, Ikechukwu Ekele has been chosen by their Great Master (Osenkpika) as next person to take over the role of the chief priest position of their late father which according to them is hereditary and requested  that he, Ekele should come to their shrine for initiation”.

Our source further stated that trouble started when Ikechukwu Ekele vehemently rejected the idea because of his Christian faith. Following the frequent visit to the home of Ikechukwu by Okechukwu Peter and some other members of the Osenkpika, coupled with several threats, Ekele now led one of his pastors, Imahia Emeke to the shrine of Osenkpika for prayers and which made the occult group requested that he should be sacrificed to their gods and his blood use for cleansing as it was the only way the Osenkpika can be appeased for the abominable act and in order for them not to incur the wrath of the deity.
Ekele on hearing the decision of his late father’s occult group flee  for his life. He also became a wanted person by the police because the Osenkpika occult group had influenced the police at Owa-Oyibu Police Divisional Headquarters, where it was alleged that Ekele practiced homosexuality, all as ploy to apprehend him and sacrifice him to their gods. Ekele's Community, Owa-Alero in Ika North East Local Government Area, also banished him on hearing that he is a gay for the fact it is a serious offence and abominable act in the land.
Ika Weekly further gathered from a member of the occult group who claimed anonymity that Ekele must be sacrificed to the great Osenkpika for defiling their shrine by going to pray in their secrete chamber and that failure to do that will make the cult members to continue to experience bad luck and catalogue of problems, revealing that the Osenkpika cult has promised handsome rewards for whoever that will give them useful information about Ekele whereabouts.
