Briefing
journalists, the elder sister to Ifeanyi Pius, Pius Abigail lamented
the disappearance of her younger brother, saying, “My siblings and I are
depressed and living in fear of what we do not know. Since the demise
of our late father, Pius in December 2013 things have fallen apart. The
Ogboni Fraternity in Delta State which our late father led before his
death has made matters worse by threatening to kill my younger brother,
Ifeanyi for refusing to join them. Their attacks have continued to cause
us pains; even as we lost our mother in the process”.
Abigail
who lamented that the police has not been of good assistance, revealed
that the Ogboni Fraternity has vowed to kill Ifeanyi and used his blood
to appease their god for the matter to be brought to rest. Crying, “The
Ogboni Fraternity has failed to understand that my late father chose his
own way of life. Therefore, I see no reason why my younger brother
should be compelled to join them. We are strong Christians. Belonging to
any association should be base on one’s freewill as the constitution of
our country, Nigeria guarantee freedom of association, religion and
expression, what the Ogboni Fraternity is doing is a virulent attack on
one of fundamental human rights.
My younger brother before his
disappearance has been attacked on several occasions by the members of
Ogboni Fraternity but our God saves his life. Ifeanyi’s whereabouts is
not known, even as the Ogboni
Fraternity has continued in search of him.
I keep wondering when we will have our peace”, she cried out in loud
voice.
