Young lady escapes death as Ogboni Confraternity cult members seek her membership

A young lady, Emeriomwe Ayo had faced a serious battle with members of Ogboni Confraternity secret cult just after her father passed on. The battle against her by members of the dreaded Ogboni Confraternity secret cult was because of her refusal to join the cult. Emeriomwe Ayo is the daughter of late popular Agbor traditional herbal doctor, Chief Dr Ayo Ben, who was before his demise known for his exploits in traditional medicines, idol worship and spiritual activities. He was also a committed Leader of the dreaded Ogboni Confraternity.

Late Chief Dr Ayo Ben

Chief Dr Ayo Ben was the owner of Ayo Ben Psychiatric Hospital situated at Number 5 Ayo Ben Street, Agbor, Delta State. It is confirmed by his family that he died on the 21st August, 2020. While alive, Chief Dr Ayo Ben strongly stood against any member of his family from converting to Christianity. He was from the descendants of traditional herbal doctors who worshipped  Olokun (Goddess of wealth) which abhors Christianity, hence, he stopped every attempt for any of his children to be converted to the Christian faith. Even though he was  highly respected for the history of successful female and male circumcision and fortune telling some people were still afraid of him because of the evil activities of the Ogboni Confraternity he belonged to.

Emeriomwe Ayo

While he was alive, In one of his interviews with journalists he  mentioned that he has initiated his wives and the first child of each wife, except one who is a female and has not come of age. It is on record that Chief Dr Ayo Ben's family is famous in idol worshiping and did not want to identify with Christianity.

Our reporters reliably gathered that people who visited the place to mourn with them, said that instead of hearing people mourning, all that was seen and heard were heated arguments, voices were loud and the environment tensed as everyone was curious about exactly what was happening.

A family member who chose to be anonymous due to security reason, told our reporter that it was in the tensed situation, they saw the Emeriomwe Ayo ran out of the house crying as she was chased by her elder brother and some group of persons. The family member said, "Then one of the men brought out a gun and shot at Emeriomwe Ayo's direction as she ran out of the compound. Fortunately,  she was not hit by the bullet.

It is said that the police are still doing their investigation. However, In a recent interview with Chief Dr Ayo Ben’s first son(Bright Ayo) he said that he does not have anything against the man a  member of the Ogboni Confraternity who pulled a trigger against his stepsister.  He disclosed that his stepsister’s refusal to be a member of Ogboni Confraternity has always brought arguments between his late father and members of  the group in his words “she better keeps running because she will get what she deserves if she continues to refuse”
