MALANCHOLY: SHRINE SENT 26YEARS OLD YOUNG MAN AWAY FROM HIS COMMUNITY.

What appeared to be malancholious and slavery in human act was reported last week end 30th of April 2019 in South-South geographical zone of Nigeria when Ika weekly reporter visited the family home .when Mrs Okwuazu Mabel reported the matter to the press. 
 
As 26years old young man was no where to be found till date and declared missing and wanted by his mother Mrs Mabel okwuazu and entire family of Late Okwuazu (Mr) of Ogbeikoro in Ekuku Agbor Community in Ika south Local government Area of Delta State  Nigeria.The reporter was informed that after the young man was called to man or control his late father s shirine,(OJOGWU) which appeared to be hereditary since centuries ago.As the first son of the family usually took over the worshipping of the Idol,according to the tradition of the people. Information gathered by our Ika weekly reporter, said that the late chief priest  ,father of Mr Okwuazu Onyeisi who died on 3rd March 2016 af ther serving the shrine for over 15years left behind with his wife , only son and two daughters and the only son was Mr Onyeisi Okwuazu who was ordered to took over the shrine as a successor.
 
 
 So, after the final burial on 22nd  April 2016 which was a long time due to traditional procedure ,Then the community Ogbeikoro elders through the community head demanded that Mr Okwuazu Onyeisi be  installed as the new chief priest of the community shrine (Ojogwu)left by his late father. When contacted, the only son Mr Onyeisi Okwuazu  refused ascending the position by telling the community it was against his Christian Faith. Angered by his refusal to continue with his late father s footprint of serving the community shrine.They allegedly threatened to banish him and the spirit of the shrine will kill or strike him dead as a sacrifice to the shrine. Insisting on keeping to his Christian Faith and due to the fear of being killed by the gods or shrine or banish by angry people, the Young man was reportedly Left his home town to unknown destination as at press time said his mother Mrs Mabel Okwuazu.It    was gathered that  Mr Onyesi Okwuazu left home around 30th April 2016. Reacting to her son s whereabouts and the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of his son (Onyeisi Okwuazu) the  woman a widow who couldn't hold her tears back said since my son refused to be an idol worshipper and Left home I have not set my eye on him .who knows weather he is still alive or dead.He is only my son who I still live for. She complained to the news men that even when his father was alive her son never took part in worshipping the Idol with his father because of his Christian Faith. Meanwhile, a cross section of people interviewed in the community confirmed the story,but blamed government for not adequately protecting or negligence of Human right of the citizens.
