POLICE DECLARE KONYEHAN FRIDAY WANTED FOR MURDER

The Delta State Police Command has declared a 15 years old, Konyehan Friday wanted after he reportedly escaped from the Agbor Police Divisional Headquarters while waiting to be charged to court for the alleged murder of his father, Mr. Sunday Konyehan on March 5, 2010.

In a press release signed by the Delta State Police Command, Public Relations Officer, DSP Charles Muka, said Konyehan Friday is a wanted person, while appealing to members of the public to be on the lookout and immediately report to the nearest police station when sighted.

As at when journalists visited the head of  Konyehan family kindred in Agbor Kingdom, Mr. Peter Konyehan for more details on the issue, he said the wanted Keonyehan Friday is the only son of their late brother, Mr. Sunday Konyehan whose cause of sudden death has remained mysterious.

Mr. Konyehan disclosed that barely three months after the death of Mr. Sunday Konyehan that Konyehan Friday was arrested by the Policemen of Agbor Divisional Headquarters following an allegation made by his stepmother, Caro Konyehan that he killed his father so that he could inherit his property.

According to him, “We the family members of our late brother never believed Caro's allegation against Friday for the fact that she can best be described as Jezebel. All efforts to convince the police that the accused is innocent failed; instead he was illegally detained for over seven months. Her hatred for her step son stems from the fact that she was unable to have a male child.

“It was in March 3, 2011that we heard through a press release by the police that Konyehan Friday escaped from police cell and is being declared wanted. At first, we doubted the police, thinking that our son (Friday) might have been killed and buried without our knowledge. But a policeman who craves anonymity told us that Friday escaped because preparation was ongoing to charge him to court for murder.

“For now, our brother’s remains is in the morgue and all efforts to make peace have been fruitless. Instead, Caro, who is very influential, insists that Friday must rot and die in prison custody".
